We provide filtered water to all our guests. We encourage you to bring a refillable aluminum flask. Please avoid plastic bottles when visiting Belize as they are hard to recycle.

Internet Service
Wi-Fi is now included with your stay. While our internet is generally as reliable as elsewhere in Belize, it can occasionally be affected by weather or other factors beyond our control. It works well for email, browsing, social media, and Wi-Fi or video calls, but it’s not suitable for streaming movies.
Planning to watch Netflix or Disney+? Please download your movies or shows before arriving on the Caye. Our internet isn’t designed for streaming, and attempting to do so may disrupt service for other guests.
Please note: accommodations and meals are not refundable due to WiFi outages or interruptions. If internet access is critical during your stay, we suggest enabling your mobile data roaming as a backup. Data coverage is available on the island on DigiCell, AT&T, T-Mobile, Rogers, Telus, Fido, Bell and other cell providers in partnership with DigiCell network.
Local SmartCell SIM cards do not work on our island.
Boat Services to Tobacco Caye
Boats to the island leave from either the Riverside Docks or Jetti Pier in Dangriga. The departure point depends on factors like boat size, group size, and weather. Please note that the location may change at the last minute due to weather or tide conditions. If you need a taxi to Jetti Pier, the cost is not included and must be covered by the traveler.
Community boats
BOAT IN - Community boats leave Dangriga around ~11:30 am
BOAT OUT - Community boats depart the island around ~ 9 am
Notes:
Community boat requires a minimum of 4 passengers to operate. We’ll do our best to match you with other travelers if you’re booking solo or a couple. For afternoon departures, you will need a charter boat.
Charter boats
Charter boats are arranged when the community boat isn’t available. These boats may also carry staff or supplies, as they are shared and not private. The cost is partially subsidized by us. Rates apply for 1–4 passengers. For larger groups, please contact us for pricing. Travel times between 6:30 am to 5:30 pm
Private Boat Charter
Departs at the time of your choosing and will only transport you and your group.

Need a water taxi from Hopkins or Placencia?
Unfortunately, there are currently no boat operators offering this service.
Boat rates are set by local boat operators based cost of gas, and we have no control over that.

Please note that we do not own or operate the boats, we simply help coordinate this service with trusted third-party providers. We kindly ask for your patience and respect toward our team. Disrespectful behavior toward staff will not be tolerated.
All boats are small open skiffs that seat 6–8 people and are operated by local fishermen, water taxi drivers, or nearby lodges. If you miss your boat, or choose not to take it after arrival, our cancellation policy applies.
We do not offer ferry, private yacht, catamaran, or sailing boat services.

Park Fees
Park fees are not included in standard reservations -unless otherwise specified. Tobacco Caye is part of the South Water Caye Marine Reserve. Rangers from the Fishery Department collect this fee from all international visitors. Park fees are a small contribution to the conservation of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the seven protected areas that form the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System.
Booking Payments
Full payment is required at the time of booking. Meal plan is compulsory, you will receive an updated invoice within 7 days of booking, and your credit card will be charged for Meal plan fees. We accept Visa & Master Card. Your credit card company may have additional charges for foreign transactions. We do not have any control over these charges by your financial institution. Please contact your bank for any additional fees not included in your invoice.
Unused Services
Any unused portion of lodging and/or meal plans, package plans, and trips (by customer’s choice) are non-transferable and not refundable.
Cancellations
15 or more days before arrival: Full refund, minus a $30 processing fee
14 days or less before arrival: Choose between a 50% refund or full credit for future travel
To cancel, just send us a written notice (email is fine). Please note that the processing fee cannot be waived, as it helps cover credit card transaction costs.
Travel Insurance
We highly encourage guests to purchase travel insurance should unforeseen situations arise that might cause their trip to be cancelled. Tobacco Caye Paradise does not take responsibility for cancelled or partially cancelled reservations due to illness, accidents, flight cancellations, or natural disasters such as heavy rains, flooding, storms, and hurricanes. Please ensure your travel insurance covers all these possible eventualities.
