<image:title>Scuba Diving Rates - Scuba Dive Tobacco Caye</image:title>
<image:caption>Diving at these local reefs is just a 5 to 10-minute boat ride and as it is close we return to Tobacco Caye between dives. The island is at the North end of the Southwater Caye Marine Reserve and is perched on the edge of a cut deep water on the barrier reef wall. This provides calm protection and deep water access. Some dive sites have a typical spur and groove structure and also we have some vertical reef wall drop-offs. Dive options include deep sandy channels, drift diving at various depths in the limestone grooves and both stepped and vertical reef wall dives. The terrain is populated with abundant large coral formations, waiving sea fans and impressive tube sponges. As well as the many different colourful fish schools, this area is known for large grouper, nurse sharks, large eagle rays and hawksbill turtles. Popular sites include Tobacco Caye Wall, Tobacco Reef and Paradise View. When sightings happen a side trip to Shark Hole is offered. Two Tank Rate US$120 (2 ppl minimum) Additional tank $60 Plus 12.5% GST</image:caption>

This two-tank dive trip includes a break between dive’s on South Water Caye, a 15-acre tropical resort island. Known as some of the best wall dives in Belize, the reef area has sections with reef terracing vertical wall drops full with vibrant sea life and spectacular underwater scenery. This area is often frequented by a nurse and blacktip sharks, southern stingrays, moray eels, schools of white-spotted eagle rays, and an abundance of colourful and varied tropical fish. A few of the many popular dives sites include Trick Ridge, a long vertical reef wall with white coral sand bottom, Rosellas Garden, named for the owner of the oldest scuba resort in the south, and the 1000’ vertical drop off known as The Abyss. <image:title>Scuba Diving Rates - Scuba Dive Glover’s Reef</image:title>
<image:caption>Glovers Atoll is the furthest atoll from Ambergris Caye and Belize City, is the least visited, and is known to have some of the most pristine reefs in the western hemisphere. With an easy twenty-four-mile boat trip east from Tobacco Caye, Glovers is very well worth the trip. On the crossing dolphin sightings are common and the Atoll promises some unforgettable dives. This large oval-shaped reef system is approximately 54 miles in circumference, has over 800 patch reefs within the lagoon. It is the only Atoll in Belize with solid reef walls on both the western and eastern sides, dropping off to the East to over 2000’ into the Caribbean trench. This is a protected Marine Reserve and has been designated as a UN World Heritage Site. An abundance of healthy coral colonies and varied sea life especially along the cliff edge awaits. Expect to see giant brain coral, huge fan coral, rare black coral, and an abundance of colourful sponges. In addition to the prolific amount of marine fish, it is often visited by nurse, yellowfin and hammerhead sharks, eagle rays, and green and loggerhead turtles. This day trip includes a break with lunch on the beautiful Southwest Caye between dives. Popular sites range from 30 to 100 feet in depth and include Southwest Caye Eastern Wall, the Aquarium on the east side of Middle Caye, the giant coral Pinnacles on the southwestern point, and the protected western Wall at Baking Swash Reef. <image:caption>All the night hunters come out and the reef is a very different place from the day, many fish have gone to sleep for the night, holed up in a crevice, or like the Parrotfish they have covered themselves in a protective mucus. The night is time for the hunters, eels, crabs, lobsters, shrimp, brittle stars, octopus and other nightwalkers are about even the corals eat at night. The night dive prep and brief are done well before sunset and we trundle out to the site just before dusk. After the sun has gone down and it is dark we slip into the water for our night dive adventure. Note: At least 1-day dive must be done at Tobacco Caye to assess your skills a day prior to diving at night. One Tank Rate US$75 Plus 12.5% GST</image:caption>
